Powerful acting, catchy music, and a powerful message

I wanted to feel bad for what the characters were experiencing but I didn't. Especially the main character. His decisions throughout the entire show irritated me. I watched the whole thing hoping to understand the hype. But their was no "GASP" moment because of how predictable everything was. Then letting the family members of the dead players suffer for a year....for what? The main character knew what he was getting into when he came back but still blamed the old man for having gone through that. I even noticed the games they played were on the freaking wall of the dorm. But were still confused as to what game to expect next at the end. I wanted to root for someone but I really couldn't get emotionally invested in any of the characters.
