Like everyone else, even the critics, I am amazed at the production value, scenics, animations, costumes, atmosphere, and just general feeling of this show. Nothing hokey about the makeup - very believeable. Better than many current movies. But the story, or stories, are very intricate as well. No "agathacristie" moments where plot twists are cheats. Hard to tell quite where it is going but it is very well plotted. Yes, there are several concurrent plots but since when is that a bad thing?! Like the real world, life is messy, and this world is really messy. Bloom is better than in LOTR but the real stars are the women here. Vigniette is constantly on a knife edge.

Excellent series. Really looking forward to more episodes (a little disappointed with only 8 this year). Writing, acting, and production really well done. Would prefer less dark drama and more comedy. Some of the characters seemed doomed to make the wrong decisions repeatedly which may be realistic but if the tone of the show stays lighter then we can skip the tragedies. Bring more characters in with more weird sex issues and have fun with it, as the first few episodes did. Great promise.
