Underwhelming. Focuses too much on pushing it's agenda. Making almost every issue Sam has about race, constantly presenting Bucky as the "guilty white man" and even making him apologize for Steve giving Sam the shield cause he's black (????).
The worst part is that the villain, Karli, is just boring. They tried way too hard to justify her actions in an attempt to make her relatable while simultaneously showing her worst and worst extremist and terrorist behaviour, so in the end she wasn't likeable nor was she a great villain, barely even intimidating. She didn't lead the movement, she just owned it, her followers literarily just do whatever she asks, even though they clearly question her decisions more and more as she continues to get more violent.
The only reason this isn't a 2⭐ review is because the last episode is just too awesome. Sam and Bucky's mutual respect and friendship development is an amazing thing to watch. And although Sam is constantly treated like just a black man, his charisma outgrows the director's tunnel vision and he's incredibly likeable.
