For me, it’s the fact that it’s 2021 and yet, they take a cartoon that’s already diverse and decide to whitewash it??? Like, read the room. I see a lot of people saying “despite the whitewashing and character removal I’m still excited” and I just don’t understand. I don’t care if it’s an “adaptation” or a “remake”, you don’t get rid of two characters (one a POC) and then add in more white people. I was excited, but I don’t see how they can ever recover from this whitewashing.
