There are many music critics giving "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)" album negative reviews...
To them I say this:
"Have you even listened to the full album?
Or did you choose to review only the songs people were already talking about?"
This Album was a Masterpiece!
Yes I know there are songs on the album that say hurtful things. Yes I know that some of the songs target groups of people that are already persecuted.
I am part several of those groups. I am gay. I am fat. I am a nerd. I could keep going...
However, this album is in Eminem's words "meant to be a conceptual album, listened to in order".
Eminem has a gender fluid daughter. He has stated that he likes to hang out with gay men.
Look it up!
Also, listen to the full album before passing judgement.
This album was meant to show HIS GROWTH as a person.
This album is meant as a personal reflection on his life.
The first part of the album were meant to be as hurtful, as mean, and as ruthless as his Slim Shady persona was.
However;
The last few songs are a reflection on who he has become. Who he is today.
They are just so DEEP, so RAW, so REFLECTIVE, that I came to tears not once, but multiple times!
This album is by far:
Eminem's "Magnum Opus"!
