This movie unfolds like a nightmare-- in the best sense. I quickly identified with the main character and was swept away as she wanders through the labyrinth of mysteries that gradually unfold. This movie reminded me of "Carnival of Lost Souls", both for its relentless sense of pervasive fear and an equally relentless soundtrack that helps sustain a feeling of paranoia and inevitable doom. Get ready for scary surprises that tie together at the shocking conclusion. Haven't been scared so much by a movie since my youth.

The movie progresses from a delightful comedy to a meaningful dramedy about the emotional disenfranchisement of Indian women in the last 30 minutes. the first part of the movie stands on it's own as a comedy, but moves much deeper into the motivations of the mothers (they're not just born to hate each other eccentrics) in the latter half. The young couple has wonderful chemistry and, though the outcome seems assured from the beginning, the movie never drags, as it coasts to a joyful Bollywood ending.
