This movie is good, but it is not perfect. My major gripes with this movie are the writing and the creative liberties taken with this film. First, the writing. Sometimes it is fine, but other times, like during Mary's song, it is very cringe. Second, the creative liberties. I understand taking creative liberties is necessary, but sometimes they took it too far. An example is the opening scene with Mary and her sisters.
But I do have positive things to say about this movie. The actors did a great job despite the mediocre writing. Those actors were also great singers and had good vocal ranges. Not Oscar worthy, but they made me enjoy the film. I also enjoyed some of the visuals (i.e. sometimes they would so the characters walking on a map). That was fun to see.
Overall, this movie is great, but not perfect. Would I watch it again? Probably, but not all the time.
