This anime is not only enjoyable, it has a legitimate message. So many different things relating to all sorts of challenging aspects of growing up. Right off the bat there is self harm caused by bullying in the form of Kaede, as well as the common want to be noticed and “seen” as shown by Mai’s invisibility. The following episodes showcase the want to fit in and to be happy, hating oneself, envy and desire towards others, and wrapping it up with being able to deal with/not have regrets. Overall just a a really deep and beautifully crafted anime about dealing with the mental instability and insecurity that follows adolescence. (Not to mention the openings and endings are insane)
