Loved it! I honestly think this is a brilliant movie. Despite its sci-fi zaniness, alluding to other sci-fi movies that we've seen, giving me that sense of familiarity and connection, this movie addresses serious themes of family relationships, intergenerational trauma and depression in an indepth manner. It's deep in a light-hearted manner which did not bore me one bit. What hits home most for me is the mother-daughter relationship, given that I'm an Asian mum with an adult daughter having gone through and dealt with what mums had to as their daughters grow up. Also Michelle Yeo and kung-fu can do no wrong for me. Loved watching Ke Huy Quan as an adult actor. There were moments when I see Short Round surfacing and am thrilled that he got an Oscar with his comeback. EEAAO so deserved the 7 oscars. Watch it. I did ... 3X. 😅 May go for my fourth soon. 🤭
