I watch the first Episode and can clearly see they messed up the pacing for this one. The first episode would be 10/10 if they changed the pacing a bit ... I don't expected it to be 1:1 the same from the original but when you change it too much the mood and tone of the story suddenly changes like this I think you need to reconsider your choices. If this is what you called "appeal the GOT fans you've lost the appeal from one of the original fans" I'm felt skeptical from the start but was gonna give it a chance. The writing seems a bit cheesy, I don't blame the acting from the kids but the lines itself felt weird and forced. Everything is too serious that it felt boring. They rush the pacing so much it ruined many of the moments. Sad to give up on it so quick but I can't stand watching Zokka being destroyed like this, he's my fav He's supposed to be goofy, funny not like this.
