I tried and tried with this book. I listened to it in Audible and the narrator was excellent, but the story is just, well, boring as all get out. I get that Klara is AI and so is unlikely to be presented in a way that causes the reader to develop a strong attachment to or concern for her. What’s difficult is that Klara is far more human than any of the disinterested and unlikable humans in the book. I made it halfway and saw that I had almost 4 hours of listening left. I just couldn’t subject myself to more of it.
