I just watched this for the first time and I am mad at myself for it taking me this long to sit down and enjoy it. Despite critical reviews, this is a great action movie and while you might not feel a connection with the characters you feel for them and what they are going through as people. I really enjoyed the drilled down nature of the film, the fact that we followed a single group of Marines throughout rather than focusing on the entire conflict happening all over the world. I will be watching this again and again, this took two genres that I really enjoy and mashed them together in a great way. Unless you are one of those people who are just looking for flaws in films when you watch them you owe it to yourself, grab a snack, sit down, and enjoy the show. It's one hell of a ride.
