Expecting the unexpected is a perfect way to describe this book. Birthday Girl is a short story about a girl working in an Italian Restaurant in Tokyo on her 20th Birthday. She wanted to spend her Birthday positively but due to some incident, she had to work late at night. Later something extraordinary happens and she gets an unusual gift from the restaurant's owner.
To be very honest at first I didn't understand what happened in the end. Did her wish come true? What was her wish? and Who she was narrating her story. well, to know all the answers read the book as if I disclose everything then there won't be any excitement left.
Tbh I was amazed and still think that a short story with only 48 pages can make you feel thrilled and curious to an extent where you won't get bored and the mystery will keep revolving around you even after completing the book. Recommended to all, especially for those who like short, crisp, and mysterious endings, you will surely be amazed.
