Oh dear - it was very like a 1980’s straight to video sci fi film but made with a massive budget and yet still keeping the naff script. It’s the illegitimate child of all its predecessors, squeezing in a bit of everything but the result is poor. We have the mighty evil empire, who despite being able to traverse the depths of space and conquer worlds, cannot do without a few fields of grain from a small village in the backwaters. So, rather than just blast the hay out of the place from their mighty spaceship, they engage in a battle on the ground against the plucky villagers and their 7 mercenary helpers - Magnificent Seven/ Seven Samurai but with blasters. What concerns me is that this vanity project it is set to continue……maybe they will throw in a giant lizard and Ape next time
