one of the very best movies i've ever seen, probably my favorite of the last ~30 years at least. don't let the long runtime dissuade or intimidate you, this is simply one of the most entertaining films i've ever experienced, a journey through the histories of film, art, and storytelling that reinvents countless genres in the process. this is everything that you could ever want out a film and so much more.

My favorite movie of all time, 2001 is a mind-blowing trip through the timeline of our existence, the vast expanses of space, and the simultaneous terror and awe of technology. It boasts some of the most entrancing visuals in cinematic history, and seeing it in IMAX for its 50th anniversary was the best experience I've ever had at a movie theater.
