Part of the overlooked issue here is that J.R.R. Tolkein and C. S. Lewis were great friends, tenured professors, brilliant scholars, and most importantly Christians, who unapologetic-ally defended the faith.
That was quite present in all of their great works of literature. Like Disney with a Wrinkle in Time, the Creators at Amazon, who probably have nothing but contempt and outright disdain for traditional Christianity, will remove all such elements for a PG-13 version of Game of Thrones. In the end this will not succeed and may actually end up losing money for Amazon. Post Christian America will be clueless and
the core logic/strength/virtue that made Tolkein's writings masterpieces will be sadly/sordidly devoid in every Amazon episode. Sad to see that Simon Tolkein would sell out his Father's legacy for 40 pieces of silver.
