HORRENDOUS. Coming from someone who’s seen almost every Studio Ghibli movie, this is a disgrace to every single one of them. The animation is ugly and unoriginal, which goes against everything Studio Ghibli is known and loved for. The scenery is okay-looking, but the characters are so hideously animated that it’s hard to look at, ESPECIALLY the MAIN CHARACTER. The characters are annoying and unlikable. The music is so incredibly disappointing, as every other Studio Ghibli movie I’ve seen has had an absolutely breathtaking soundtrack. There’s little to no creativity in this movie; contrary to Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Ponyo, and just about every other Studio Ghibli Movie. Earwig and the Witch fell short of just about everything I love about Studio Ghibli. I’ve never been more disappointed in a film.
