A fun filled, light-hearted comedy with 2-3 jump scares, amazing cameos, good storyline & phenomenal addition to Maddocks horror comedy universe.
PS: After the movie ends, there's a post credit scene then a commercial song plays after which there is another post credit scene followed by another song.
PROS:
1. The essence of Stree 1 is maintained well. Rajkumarr Rao is phenomenal, Shraddha Kapoor nails each emotion according to the storyline effortlessly, Aparshakti Khurrana & Abhisekh Banerjee have both delivered great performances & light up the screen with their presence & comic timing. Pankaj Tripathi's effortless comedy wins your heart from his very first scene.
2. All the songs in the movie are kept brief adhering to the purpose of the song being shown at that point in the movie. No song is stretched beyond need & keeps the boredom of waiting for the song to end, miles away.
3. the storyline is well thought. Starting from where they left off in the last movie to taking "stree's" story ahead.
It includes all three maddock movies into one timeline nicely, joining dots, providing necessary cameos giving a slight twist during the climax.
4. The movie is a family entertainer & a light-hearted comedy. with a few jump scares.
CONS:
1. The Sarkata's decendant's character to be shown as a mentally ill person was unnecessary. The humor to that character looked forced. but the actor tried to do the character justice.
2. Rajkumaar & Shraddhas romance dream sequence song was unnecessary instead a little depth in their bond should've been shown.
3. Tammanah Bhatia's extended cameo was plain lame.
4. There was a lot of forced comedy which wasn't needed it looked overdone. Some serious moments should've been kept serious like in "munjya" but comedy was forcefully added in that too. Saekata's character should've been kept serious at all times like with Stree's in part 1 but the forced humor made him look not-scary & lame after a point of time.
Overall the movie is a good watch if watched with lower expectations and free of comparison of the horror-comedy balance of stree 1.
6.5/10 3.5/5
5/5 for joining bhediya, munjya & stree effortlessly via cameos & post credits as one universe and timeline.
