Gavin Boyd

I found this book enjoyable (much more the last two thirds than the first), when I found it difficult to put down. I didn't quite understand all the hype however when I had finished it. The characters/relationships seemed to go through massive changes with no real explanation as to why (so it was all just a bit unbelievable). The concept of the Miniaturist was so intriguing, but the truth was anti-climatic (although I suppose to be anything other than what it was would take it into the realms of science-fiction!) Expect a good story, characters that you care about, but not overall what I hoped it would be.
