Zoey Watkins

This movie was incredibly disappointing and a waste of time. I understand that maybe the creators wanted this movie to aim towards a “younger” audience but they could have at least tried to make the movie watchable for older people. I don’t understand why they made this movie a musical, every time a song started I would roll my eyes. Marinette’s singing voice doesn’t match her regular voice at all!!! It was incredibly distracting and very annoying to listen to. Another thing that bothered me was the “introduction” to all the characters and how the characters feel is 52 minutes long. This made the ending feel absolutely rushed, it went from moving incredibly slow to moving ridiculously fast. (SPOILERS) Speaking of the ending, I hated it. Why did Hawkmoth suddenly have the ability to make chat noir hover above the ground. Also why didn’t he just take the miraculous instead of cutting chat noir up like that, it doesn’t make any sense. Speaking of chat noir, his character was changed drastically, he went from being a fun flirty character and calling his ladybug bugaboo to being annoying and narcissistic and calling ladybug watermelon. Marinette’s character was also changed quite a bit, instead of being lovable and a little clumsy she turns into this “pick me” girl who won’t quit complaining about how she can’t do something. I would also like to add that this movie was quite cringey, I mean they must have yelled “STRONGER TOGETHER” 5+ times, it was ridiculous. Overall I’m incredibly disappointed, it should not be compared to the show at all, and if you’re going to watch it I suggest lowering your expectations by a lot. If they decide to go forward with the second movie I hope they read all the poor reviews and change the things that absolutely sucked about the first movie.
