This film is nowhere near as good as the original, however as far as horror movie reboots/sequels go, it's pretty close. The acting is really good, the music is good, and it's execution is incredible.
The way candyman kills his victims in this movie are very different from the ones we have seen in the original trilogy, and how they tie into and add onto the lore of the original film through amazing shadow puppetry will definitely get enough bang for your buck.
It isn't as subtle or as eerie as the first film, but compared to what could have happened to a horror movie like this, I'd say it's worth the price of admission.
