SPOILERS: I did enjoy watching the series, but some of the changes made from the original book will make no sense if any other adaptations are to be made. The biggest error was having John Amos try to rape Olivia and her killing him. In addition to killing off a character that appears in further tales, it would make no sense to keep Olivia’s character clinging strongly to religion. It was understandable that she turned to religion in desparation, but after what happened with John Amos, it made no sense. Olivia’s intelligence should have made her realize what a scam John Amos was pulling. In the book, those events didn’t happen, so it makes more sense that Olivia sticks with her stringent beliefs.
