R W Fetterman – Google

Watched Horizon last night with friends. We are all retired and liked the film. Maybe because we're all from the West we get the stories. As for the all the plot lines it can be difficult to keep up. What I don't get is the score which is exceedingly forgettable. In the score's attempt to match the cinematography in it's sweeping portrayal of the lands vastness it simply falls flat. On the opposite end of this is the cast and the excellent portrayals with Sienna Miller, Ella Hunt, Jon Beavers, and Danny Huston being stand outs filling their characters with conflict adding a depth that could have been played out like so many cliches we've all seen before. This is an epic story that requires time to unfold much like the period the film covers. The story of the West wasn't completed over a weekend and I'd dare to say it's story remains unfinished. For those who found it difficult to follow so many plot lines in the end - Costner will deliver Can't wait 'till the next installment. Richard Fetterman

Outstanding film, brilliant script, a cast that brings a genuine honesty to the struggles in working through PTSD of our military and a young woman’s promise of love fulfilled only to suffer its loss and does so without one melancholy moment. Broken souls coming together on their long individual journey to healing to have a life worth living for. The cinematography, I’ve never seen Montana look better in all its wide expanse nor the internal somber mood we find our characters in. The editing just flows. Best thing I’ve ever seen Brian Cox in. Patrica Heaton fantastic as the the Doctor, Sinqua Walls as the soldier who left his team behind and Perry Mattfield share screen time that is both touching and revealing of the depth of hurt their characters are so desperate to emerge from. Wes Studi breaks those moments of tension with a humor and a depth of great compassion for those in his life who are fighting personal demons. Irene Bedard and the rest of the cast performed flawlessly.
