I'm halfway through the book and it's so dry. I'm going to finish it but to be honest - the movie was better than what I've read thus far There isn't any chemistry friendship wise between the characters - it feels forced. Cam is the most interesting-ish character just by his personality characteristics. The shadows are the most interesting part of the book so far. The students seem to get a way with a lot more than one would anticipate with this type of school. It's hard to relate to the main character in any way shape or form and she is more stalkerish than curious about why she is drawn to the Grigori character.
