I don't think this book really had anything to say. I think it just bounced along from one mean thing for a character to do to a next. A lot of people have said it was simply disturbing, and I didn't even feel that way. I felt nothing about this book and it changed nothing about how I see the world. To me, it felt like pure shock value.

This book is really gorgeously illustrated and very well written. It also really hit hard with the themes and still felt very real and very grounded. I also think because of this, I would not recommend this book to everyone, because for me it definitely brought up some tough memories, so keep that in consideration. All in all though, amazing. Especially for a debut novel :)

This book is fine, but it's not something I'd really say is a must read. The horror elements hit pretty hard and the illustrations in that part of the book are pretty amazing, but other parts are lackluster. The main characters feel really unrealistic and cliche and it goes the same way with the dialogue. The pacing is a bit weird also, which really deadens the suspense. It's also a very short read, which I suppose can be good or bad depending on how you look at it.
