Female empowerment at the cost of the series. These characters are my childhood friends, and their narrative has been hijacked in the name of poorly written female empowerment. Rand is little more than a plot device for the female characters to reference in their takeover of the series. His growth is poorly represented if at all. I had hopes for the series despite its lack of production value in places but it's clear that a Wheel of Time fan is not in control of the story.
