I just finished the game and I have to say I absolutely loved the game play (loved a walking simulator ha! - joke, obvs it’s more than that) and the musical score is some of the best I’ve heard in any game along with the beautiful detailed world, however, the story is so convoluted and makes no sense whatsoever. I understand the metaphors but it’s trying so hard to come across as smart and groundbreaking. It also felt that they were making it up as they went along in large parts because every new conversation seemed to introduce a new concept for you to incorporate into the world. Also what is the obsession with making America whole again? I’m not American and most people who play this game are probably not American either! How did they manage to make the most universal topic (life and death) only about America lol! Kojima is Japanese too! And not a single character did it for me least of all Sam who I don’t remember him saying anything remotely interesting. I couldn’t relate to anyone on any level. How can you do that with such a great cast. Kojima is a wannabe movie makers who doesn’t really know who to tell a good story but can create great game play.
