I was really hoping for a homerun with this movie scheduled to be released on Christmas day. Alas a fitting movie to top this pandemic ridden 2020.
The dialogue was flat, the humour lacked and the story telling was atrocious. A story that appeared from nowhere and lead nowhere for no reason. Because it was titled 1984 shouldn't have meant it should have felt like a movie that was actually written and directed in 1984 by a student filmaker.
The year really is irrelevant and not sure why they went that route. They could have written a story around actual events of 1984 and had Wonder Women behind the scenes influencing world events. But instead we had a cat lady seeming to come out of nowhere.
Would have been much better if they just focused on Cheetah as the villan and developed a story around her. Instead the villan is a poorly cast business dude struggling to do the right thing. Was his kid supposed to be adopted? because it did not resemble the dad in any way. Very little and weak explanations for everything!!!
I was waiting for the dream sequence to end in this film.
This Movie could have easily been reduced to 1 hour with plenty of commercials.
