I tried. This movie just... wasn't made for me. The OG titans were off model, their characterizations flat and uninspired, and the whole movie felt like a giant middle finger to people who actually cared about the 2003 version. There was explicit dumping on the Fandom couched in a defensive, superior tone. I found the movie childish, boring, and horrifying. My face was locked in an expression of utter disgust for 80% of the movie. I had to skip a lot because I just couldn't stand it. The 2003 teen titans wasn't a serious show. There was a lot of comedy and PG nonsense. Chibis, extreme expressions, etc. It was a mostly light-hearted show with a few serious episodes, and this movie wants to pretend that anyone who preffered the OG is a humourless loser. Its like they didnt even watch it. They certainly dont care. "TTGO makes money, it has GREAT ratings, that means it better DUH." That's the moral of the film. "Stop complaining because TTGO pays our mortgages." I'm just... disappointed. At least the kids like it. Most of the reviews on this film are overwhelmingly positive. I'm glad they enjoyed it. I wish I didn't hate it. But it is what it is.
