Olivia Wilde got it. Its such a wonderful movie in all of its entirety. The whimisical timings of the soundtracks throughout the movie are crisp. She should direct more films.
The story by itself has not great potential, something we've seen multiple of hundreds of times. I myself found myself wondering why am I trying to watch another teenage coming-to-age story. I've just became 26.. starting to feel like a sick pedophile watching stuffs like this. But Booksmart really is a great film.
It is a ride. If it is the last ever teenage coming-to-age story, then it is the best end-note you can get.
Doug Liman. Sir Ridley Scott. Adam McKay. Jon Favreau. Clint Eastwood. Olivia Wilde. Or so the list goes.. (sharing spots with Taika Waititi. James Gunn.)
