Ok. I’d like to get things over with. I was sooo excited to read this book. I waited year for it to become available in my library. I must say though, I was very disappointed. I was very bored while reading this. In fact, it took me about 5 months to get around to finishing it. Even thought it is good writing, I wouldn’t read it again.

First things first. This overall is an ok book, I read it really quickly and it was very entertaining but I would not recommend for people under the age of 11. It talks a lot about religion, puberty (periods, breast, sex, etc). Make sure your child was had all these talks before reading this book. The characters are also poorly written and has so many details left out. I hope this review has helped you in any way

This book is a beautiful and brutal novel. It is amazing and I 100% recommend. It has changed my life and made me see things in a whole new point of view. I think everyone should read this amazing piece of writing especially with the events that are going on right now. Mark Oshiro sis an excellent job with this book. Prepare for a good cry

This was an astounding book. I've heard a lot about it online so I decided to read it for a school project. I loved it. Very entertaining. The characters bring so much emotion while reading that you can't help feeling pity for them. I gave it a four star because it has quite a bit of bad words, sex and violence but I would recommend it to your mature 12 year old. Can't wait to see the movie!

I would recommend this to any Latina familiar with these topics 12+. Overall, I really liked it and can see why it has plenty of good reviews.

Hmmm how do I put this book into words. Although I read it for school, I would totally read it for pleasure. It has some snooze-ish parts but overall is a good book. It’s about a Navajo marine and his experiences while serving around the attack on Pearl Harbor era. The point of view is written beautifully and you can really imagine what it must of been like. I’d give it an 7/10

Ok ngl, i read this book in Spanish, for Spanish class. This probably induced my opinion on it since reading books for school is usually quite boring, with an extra dose or work and anxiety. But I very much disliked it, the characters were all over the place, it was more of a series of poems then an actual book and it’s sort of something I would snooze on while in class. Again I read the adaptation in Spanish, and as a native English speaker, it got quite boring.
