It sometimes happens that the material provided by a book is a perfect movie material. This is the case of Tonke Dragt's The Letter for the King, a marvelous book. How then it happened that the Netflix series butchered that material so badly? It boggles the mind that the makers of the series managed not to understand the book, its protagonists, and its message to that extend. They truly deserve an award for the worst book adaptation I've seen in a long time.
