There’s such a huge opportunity of real issues to address in hero/villain stories. I can’t believe people are hating on this movie. It completely changes the perspective of this immortal and psychotic antagonist and shows you a more human side, one that is sick, hurt and mortal. Someone who is an outcast and just wants to know what love is and is so angry at how he’s been treated in his life AND ITS A MUSICAL. I know for a fact people would love to see the same plot that’s been put into all the other hundred movies and it’s so simple minded to be mad that someone did something different. I loved the 2019 joker and I loved this one, most likely because I don’t usually like hero/villain movies so I have a different perspective. I loved Juaquin and Gaga, I adored them together, their voices, the style of the movie and the terrifically horrible ending.
