It's a fabulous novel of all the time and I really like the tone of Thomas Hardy. I, being still a 12 year old kid, read it interestingly and Hardy's use of words and expressions made me feel no difficulty to read though some say that it's only an adult classic. But some parts were hardly understood by me with a help of a summary guidance and some were not at all; guess, it's due to my age and hope I would re-read it in the future to understand it clearly. But I can understand the theme of the story and the expression of the writer. A very good book to be read by everyone and no movement was done by me but only the page-turning action because I read it interestingly and willingly and it felt me as if the time was still when I got to that I had been reading it for more than three or four hours! I really like the chapter when suddenly Susan dies remaining an unknown secret to Michael of his daughter's true nature divertingly even after Michael had uncovered that Elizabeth was his own daughter. And the chapter when Michael saves Lucetta from a wild bull and later he gets to know that even after she has promised and given the acceptation of marriage, she has married Donald Farfrea. A good novel it is; The Mayor of Casterbridge
