Big John Sandford fan. I've read all of his Prey and Virgil Flowers novels at least twice over these many years. The last few books, however, have been sorely lacking, almost like an AI clone has been trying to replicate those before. Or maybe, like Stephen King and other prolific writers, seems like over time they tend to lose the spirit and style that "got them there" and instead settle on what a famous author's name like John Sandford may still bring. Regardless, I was sorely disappointed, once again, and cannot in good concience recommend this boring and unSandford-like tour-de-blah.
