Such a great game, I now understand what the hype is about this game. So glad I played Ori and the Blind Forest first, this game is so much better. The story line is so much richer and the game play is adaptable to suit different game styles by allowing the player to switch up Ori's skills. Ori and the Blind Forest is much more technical requiring precision timing of moves, whereas Will of the Wisps is more forgiving and the easy mode does feel like it is a little bit easier. Not going to lie there are some difficult boss fights and fleeing of bosses (that sand worm!), but as with these scenes it just takes some practice and you'll get into memory muscle as to what you need to do to get through it.
The game does auto save, but it is annoying that you're not able to save along the way, especially after some crucial parts. The ability to warp to different areas without having to go to a spirit well is a time saver, given that the map is quite extensive.
Some of the areas are just so charming like the Luma Pools, the Well Springs and the Wellspring Glades. There's so much to do apart from the main story line, with side quests, a tonne of collectibles to find and NPCs that you meet and help along the way.
I played this for over 35 hours, well worth the money, plus I got it on discount as well. Although, I think I'm getting RSI in my right thumb... I wouldn't replay this game as there areas that I just don't want to have to go through again. Nearly impossible to achieve 100% completion in all areas. I'm still short 3% in some areas despite exploring and completing every task in the area. I've managed to complete and find all collectibles which is good enough for me.
Highly recommend this game. Note: I'm a casual gamer who enjoys puzzle games.
