The movie feels like any other Nolan film. I am not a fancy big critic but I am a mere movie watcher who knows his movies. The movie involves complex time traveling, time inversion and the characters floating around inverted and forward. Now it's up to you to figure out who's who and when's when. The concepts of time inversion in a movie felt quite new and fun until the moment you couldn't catch up with the timeline anymore and that moment comes quite early in the movie. Most of the time during the movie you are trying to fix the pieces of this time puzzle and that was the entertainment for me. The awe and satisfaction you will get when you start understanding the movie is a reward.
The cinematography is exceptional, something that you see rarely. The editing, use of props, stunts, and the overall creation of any scene that includes time inversion is really out of the world. The music score fits right into the scenes and make you sit at the edge of your seats the whole time.
However the only downside I felt was the lack of explanation in the movie. If you have watched movie Looper or shows Viz. Rick and Morty, and Dark (Netflix), those movies and shows in many way describe and explain time and it's use in the movie. They explain time travel with infinite realities, loops in timeline etc. Nolan fails to do so big time. To people who have some knowledge time and it's use in various movie and shows, they might find possible loops, loopholes and vagueness in the movie.
But it's not fair to the people who developed this movie to criticize it just for the lack of explanations as the story is already rich and bulky enough. Well it's a good entertainment and pretty fun to watch this movie (many times lol). It's worth all the brain scratches.
