I haven't read the book. I find Stephen King material hit and miss. Enjoyed The Green Mile and The Shining but not much else. Tried to like this but its stereotypes of good and evil are grating. Not much depth to characters. Please read the more detailed reviews for more info. Watched the full season but disappointed.

Keeping it short as there are plenty of detailed reviews here... why does Grace not know how to say her last name? She says it like Frasier as in "Frasier" (Crane - sitcom) while the name is Fraser (& everyone else says it correctly). Annoying. I don't think it's a great plot. There really is only one person with a motive. Some great actors...But unfortunately, comments about Nicole's limited ability to emote due to facial fillers are accurate and so it is difficult to watch her. As I read in a recent article can we let her (& others like her) look her age? Hugh looks around his 60 some years and she's supposed to look youthful. Overall, I was disappointed.

Series 1 too long with too many plot holes. The police continue to miss clue after clue. They are at odds with each other and seem incompetent too much of the time. The politician sequences also go on and on. All the secrets and withholding of information is tedious. I have enjoyed Nordic Noir (The Bridge is outstanding and The Investigation is the best I've ever seen of any crime drama.) But I found The Killing frustrating to the point of infuriating, yet saw it through to the end.
