Well, they tried.
Loved the books as a kid and teenager, passed them down to my siblings, etc
Now, no movie can properly adapt a book. It is a thing we can accept, and then learn to appreciate the steps they could take to condense the narrative.
The movie doesnt do a bad job, i can see how they are condensing the various plot items together, which isnt a bad idea.
Honestly, i think alot of the fault of this film comes from just bad movie making. im hoping disney chooses a different production crew (director, scene writers, etc. The props and CG were all pretty dope) for the second one.
