Screaming at your kids because you're triggered constantly by their basic needs and then calling it a gritty drama? If this is a snapshot of 'real' parenting, I'd say the ones who find it relatable need to look at themselves and ask a few questions. And after being abusive to the kids, Freeman's character asking Haggard 'am I abusive to them?' and me thinking ' Finally, YES', her stupid character says 'no you're fine', not only enabling him to further abuse but then dropping in threats herself like 'do as I say or I'll kill you'. Wtf is that all about? What the hell are they modelling in this, how to parent as a psychopath?? Immature and damaging parenting styles. So surprised that actors I've previously enjoyed watching would sign up for this.
