The real Patch Adams has been openly critical of the film, saying that it sacrificed much of his message to make a selling film. He also said that out of all aspects of his life and activism, the film portrayed him merely as a funny doctor. At a Conference on World Affairs, he told film critic Roger Ebert, "I hate that movie." During a speech in 2010 at the Mayo Clinic, Patch Adams said, "The film promised to build our hospital. None of the profits from the film ever came to us, and so, basically 40 years into this work, we are still trying to build our hospital. Furthermore, Adams stated that Robin Williams worked for 4 months pretending to be him and made 21 million dollars but did not donate a single penny to his hospital. My review...I honestly did not enjoy this film. It was too over the top and too many inconsistencies. They cast an almost 50 year old to play the real Adams when he was actually 22 when he started Medical School. Sorry but not a great movie.

I don't review movies, I don't call myself a movie critic but I enjoy watching movies. I decided to give this a watch because I keep seeing the advertisement on Netflix. Also, it was my husband's turn to pick the movie (poor me). I don't know where to begin. I am seriously at a loss for words with this one. It started off ridiculously and kept going from there. Nothing made sense. Don't watch this. I only made it 45 minutes in and gave up. It seems Netflix is just banging out horrible movies. It's not scary, just ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and skip this one!

I don't ever review movies, or whatever this atrocity is but I had to. What was Netflix thinking? The Jonas Brothers being roasted? I haven't heard anything about the Jonas Brothers since my 20 year old daughter was 6. I like watching Roast's and having a good laugh. The only thing I laughed at was, Kevin's getup and Joe's horrible shirt. I turned it off about 20 minutes in, right after John Legend played his song. If you're expecting a Comedy Central Roast, don't watch this.

My first time reviewing a movie but I felt the need to. This movie is hilarious and extremely worth watching. The plot is great and the 2 lead actresses are amazing. I don't usually gravitate towards comedy movies but this one had me laughing quite a few times. It is also a coming of age story and the bond between best friends. A few mature scenes but the comedy that goes with it, makes them great. I highly recommend watching this. It's a great story with great acting and overall a fantastic movie. I highly recommend watching this.

This was actually a very good movie. I wasn't going to watch it because of the mixed reviews but I'm glad I did. Of course it is sad and brings me right back to the day. The plot of the 5 strangers in the elevator is decent. All of the actors did a great job, I enjoyed Charlie Sheen's performance as well as Luis Guzman. The end made me tear up but that is understandable given what the movie is based upon. If you are on the fence about watching this, I recommend that you give it a chance!

I don't understand the bad reviews of this movie. The only thing bad I have to say about it, when Nicholas Cage speaks to Mrs. Christian, every time, he sounds like he is reading the script. It's so inauthentic and no one speaks like that during conversations. It's a very dark film that reminds me of neo noir films. I think it's a good plot, gruesome, sad, disgusting but it keeps you interested. Someone commented, why was Nicholas Cage's character picked for this assignment. He was picked because he is apparently the best private investigator and had just done a job for the senator. Also, if my husband died and I found that film in his safe, damn right, I would have it investigated! The woman was rich and her husband was apparently well known and she wanted to know. Anyway, it's a great movie, I watch it probably once a year. I recommend checking it out.
