I found it a disturbing and poorly written book.There was no character development of any of the characters in particular Lucia, who we are told decided to change her life- highly unlikely given what preceded .The outline of the father's character was a caricature. It was blindingly obvious from the outset how his exhibition would play out.No-one appeared able to finish a sentence which was most irritating.Altogether highly unsatisfactory. For a book which covers exactly the same theme with a deft and delightful touch I would recommend The Family Album by Penelope Lively.
