(Spoiler-free)
A depressing, anti-climatic ending to the trilogy. If you're hoping for some form of satisfying resolution, you wont. A risk was definitely taken for this trilogy and the payoff is a somewhat misfired product that started off promisingly in the first film, felt somewhat convoluted in the second and finally, ended in a way that is nothing short of disappointing. I can see what they're trying to achieve in terms of cinematic themes but using it in the Godzilla Kaiju universe is somewhat a strange if ballsy idea which ultimately fell short. They could've easily created their own monster instead of Godzilla and to be frank, this trilogy would've been no different. One step forward, two steps back.
