Over-hyped. The time-fold narrative technique adds nothing of interest or complexity to a tale which is mostly tediously tell, and little show. I bought it on the strength of some decent reviews. All I can assume is that the publisher called in some favours or that the author is very, very well-connected because, to be brutally honest, it's less than ordinary. An interesting, plausible and horrifying premise is squandered in a one-paced trudge of flat cliché characters and dramatic failure.
