Exhausting. Well made, nuanced, arguable from multiple perspectives. The movie if you let it or choose to partake in it will sit with you and get under your skin. It is a movie highlighting emotional brokenness - which in many cases leads to toxicity or goes hand and hand with the toxic relationship culture but this - this was brokenness and masochism all in one. At the same time i wonder if that is too shallow a description. The movie begs deeper questions - questions about respect, where one stands in a relationship, and ones contribution to the others life and work. Questions about identity and self actualization. Questions about how others we are connected to view us and what that means for our own identities. I enjoyed the movie. I enjoyed the passion it displayed. Nonetheless exhausting.
