The cinematography, the costumes, the settings are fabulous. The entire cast amazing, but in particular Mr. Jarvis, Mr. Sanada, and Mr. Hira bring something sublime, nuanced, and thoughtful to their portrayals. I’ve read the book and saw the 1980’s production, but I’m still mesmerized with each episode.
