I already knew that Cumberbatch is a talented actor and he did not disappoint in this drama as Vincent. His heartbreaking downward path towards self distruction was touching. I was thrown by the giant Eric initially but it all makes sence after a while. It also shows discrimination faced with race, poverty and sexual orientation. It tackles sexual exploitation and corruption. It wasn't your typical thriller which i see so much of. I loved the retro vibe of the 80's too. Overall... 'brilliant'
