Honestly, they ruined the entire concept of the 16 realms. One of my favorite things about the original series was the world building, and Dragons Rising through it all away. The ninja aren’t even the main characters! I mean, it’s called NINJAgo. There are only like, 3 ninja in the first season. (It was so bad I didn’t get far into it so that might not be true.) Besides, they totally messed up Kai’s character. In the original, he’s a funny hot-head who really cares about his team. He was one of my favorite characters, and now I don’t really care about any of the characters at all. I always loved the idea of the ninja being like a family, and not all the ninja being there ruins that concept. Honestly, the villains in the original are really interesting, and in Dragon’s Rising, the villains are so boring and they have an IQ of -10. If I had to give this show a rating from 1-10, it would be a -30. BTW this is from a fan of the original, not a critic.
