It's refreshing to see the focus on the women, and their families Sutcliffe murdered.
However, I'm concerned at the over sympathetic portrayal of George Oldfield
It was Oldfield's unbelievably incompetent handling of the Weirside Jack farce that lead Sutcliffe to carry on killing.. And the deaths and attacks on numerous women.
I would highly recommend the excellent three part BBC documentary - The Ripper Files - If you want a true, unfiltered depiction of the extent of West Yorkshire Polices' appalling behaviour, both during and after the Ripper Investigation.
A Government level cover up then ensured, lead by Mageret Thatcher's Government.
It's also sickening that Jim Hobson made tens of thousands of pounds, in book deals and after dinner speaking, boasting about his catching Sutcliffe.... It was South Yorkshire Police that caught Sutcliffe by coincidence.
I remember Hobson and Oldfield smirking on the news, sipping champagne.... After their incompetence had lead to the deaths of numerous women.
