This game was created to destroy you childhood. They've changed the story to where it is now almost unrecognizable and the parts they added are complete cringe. I've played all the Final Fantasy games from 1 on. It is apparent now that Enix knows the only way it could compete with a squaresoft game is to just destroy their products, which is exactly what they are doing with this.
